11-29- Letter

wow.  Has a week passed by alreay?? Sorry about not emailing you yesterday, they misinfirmed us when we got here and told us we´d be emailing on wednesday but we ended up not getting to email till today.  so first off, exuse all the errors in this email, i don{t have alot of time to write so i´m not going to go back to fix mistakes, and... it is a spanish key board so everything is in the wrong place for english.
everyone here knows me as Elder Reay... it is so amazinng!! NO ONE knows me by my first name, to you guys Elder Reay sound awekward but Logan sounds correct, here it is the other way around.  I got to go to the argentina temple yesterday!!! infact, if i turn around right now, i can see the beautiful temple with it{s water fall in front.  It was realy interesting to be in an all spanish temple, EVERYTHING here is in spanish, our teachers speek complete spanish and don´t speak english untill they have finished completely describing the lesson.  i am amazed how quickly i am picking up the accent here, they have a huge difference between what i learned in the states.  I learned that y and ll and all the y sounds sound like a y.  but here, everything sounds like a z.  anyways it is amazing.  in the classes, i feel completely overwhelmed, but after a lesson, i use what i{ve learned with the latinos here and i can actualy communicate on many different levels!!! it is very beautiful.

It doesn{t really feel like i´m in a nother country beacause, well i don{t see much of the outside world.  for all i know, i could be in an mtc in the states!!!  the only differences are the different birds, all the birds flying past the windows are compleatly different than those from home.  also, i am obviously surrounded by  native speakers. when we arrived in Buenos Eries or however you spell it, i was with a group of missionarys.  i was the only one who KINDA spoke half way decent spanish with the airport people because i was the only one that had spoken the language regularly, everyone else had learned it in school but never actualy spoke witgh someone with an accent.  so we struggled our way through customs and securuty and found our way to our luggage and finaly to the main part of the airport.  there was a lady waiting there for us and she took us to the mtc.

I have a latino in my room named Elder Barkett and he is super helpful with my spanish.  he speaks quite a bit of english so i am able to struggle trying to figure out what he is saying in spanish and then he can tell me what is missunderstud in english.

It is important to note that i WILL be here at the mtc for 9 weeks.  for the first 6 weeks i will have a north american comp.  then for the last three i will have a latino companion.

I am amazed at how much more prepared i am than some of the other elders in my district.  my companion is .... well.... he is a wonderful person :) haha he struggles with the language AND testimony AND leadership.  so i have done alot of teaching .... alot of teaching.

so far, argentina has been staring me down from this building.  i have stared out the window at the beautiful green plush area and haven{t seen anyof it yet.  saturday i will go trackting and that will be very exciting, we go every saturday.  the temple was staring me down untill yesterdar,  i couldn{t believe that such a beautiful building was foot steps away and i wouldn{t be able to enter till pday.  }

so far i like the schedule and all the leaders.  our mission president here is very VERY learned in the gosple and so every time we go to a meeting with him, i take a good scripture marker and sit on the edge of my seat yearning for every word that he says.  Hermano Aguedo is a wonderful man as well, he is the manager here at the ccm (Spanish for mtc)  he has given me alot of insight aswell.

Made it safe with all my luggage, Talk about feeling like a forigner!  Everything is in spanish already!  P-Day is on wednesday so thats when you will here from me next.  I Love All of You! Hope you guys get this soon.

Elder Reay

Farewell....

Logan Leaves Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport for his mission.
This was a very emotional day for our family.  We will miss him but are excited that he is serving the Lord.
He will be a great missionary but we feel a void at home and look forward to his first reports on his mission.
