February Email

I was only in the mission home for a day.  :) ha-ha stayed the night in the lds motel for one night and then went off to minas.  I have an apartment, will send pictures soon.
My comp is amazing and helps me allot with the language as well as the gospel... He is a wonderful missionary and teaches with allot of power.  I am learning allot from him and he is too.  He has 4 more months left on his mission.

IMPORTANT:  Label my package as "Missionary Supplies" nothing else.  Otherwise it WILL get stuck in customs.  Also, if you use just a padded envelope or such, it WILL get through EASIER. Boxes are always getting hung up in the postal service.  Also, please please please have dad call the visa card company.

Cooking so far is going well, we cool on days we don’t have appointments with the members. So far I have eaten alto of pastas... I have also eaten beef toung, it was alright, and I ate everything that was on my plate, :) I also ate liver. Never had it before, it was actually pretty good.  I didn’t even know what it was at first. ;) I have to buy breakfast and dinner for myself every day, a day in advance. ;) So far, lots of bananas and fruits with bread and ham for dinner.

I baptized Mateo yesterday!!! In Spanish!!! So amazing to raise my right arm to the square and participate in the lord’s work.

Here and in Argentina, we clap to knock on doors.  ;) It is interesting to say the least. ;) They have doves here here, that is nice, a little piece of home.  Please read chapter 21 of Jesus the Christ.  Gave me alto of help and strength.  I am tired all the time but that is alright with me ;) I am in the lord’s work! ;)  IT rained the first three days and the first day I had in minas we contacted a man about 30 years old, we are teaching him and he has committed to baptism, if he is baptized, he will be my first FULL convert. :) His name is Javier.  He is one weird guy.  A bit of brain problems I thing, social that is.  But he is very intelligent and accepting and keeping the commitments we extend.

What is our ward size?? How many youth, families, and priesthood holders?

Momma, big bertha doesn’t compare to the walking I do... ha-ha every hill here is big bertha!!! And I am doing it in a white shirt and tie with dress shoes ;) all day long ;) it is wearing me out.  Ha-ha I got a letter from Joni today, very sweet of her. I love that girl. Said she misses me picking on her, she will regret saying that when she gets home from here mission

We went running today, in the morning at 6.  It was cold and crisp, reminded me of hunting with my dad.  :) Precious memories.  The "Prime Time” approaching as the clouds was lit with a tinge of orange and red.  :)

If you guys send me any ties, don’t send silk, they just don’t cut it in the mission field, ha-ha, No need for a tooth brush, the electric one broke in the ccm but I bought a regular one and my teeth get just dandily clean with it.

The other day I got shocked by 220volts! Ouch!! My finger was on the positive and negative when I was plugging in the microwave.  :( All is ok though, woke me right up.

I haven’t worn my Oakley sunglasses since the day I showed up in Argentina... just don’t fit in with a bunch of poor people, attract too much attention.  I absolutely love the hymnal that my Mexican grandmother Alejandra gave me :) perfect perfect for me.  I use it all the time.  Please thank her for that.  Thank the rices for their letters too, their words keep me in touch with the ward and it is much needed. ;)
